Better Late Than Never!... I Think...

Hey there

Just got in from meeting and am now eating a couple oreos... and you thought I was roughing it here. ;) Anyway, I had planned to post this on Sunday, but then I was too busy procrastinating to do it.

I wanted to take a photo of the hall to show you but ended up with this instead...

waiting for the brothers to finish...

A friend from Georgetown was up visiting this weekend so after meeting I ran to get a bus to come to the hall for her and her bag. Once that was all sorted and done, the brothers had started a meeting so we sisters waited outside.

I saw the clouds rolling in from the water, but did it move me to action? of course not! Silly me kept on chatting until I heard thunder. I then commenced run-walking home. Alas I was too late and got stuck in a shop to get out of the downpour.

Looking out from the shop

I thought I'd take the opportunity to show you what the inside of a shop looks like here. This is one of the larger ones. I usually stop here on my way home on Sundays to pick up odds and ends.

The owner was too shy to be in the picture. He also made sure I only took photos from flattering angles of the shop :P As you can see, we have a nice variety of goods available here. (I feel like someone needs to point this post out to Gary just for kicks. Candace?)

It actually turned out to be a good thing I was stuck there for 45 minutes. I had a captive audience while the rain kept other customers away. We ended up talking about what happens at death and why we suffer. It was really nice as I have tried several times to witness at this shop in the past and always been interrupted. Nonetheless, I was glad when the rain let up and I was able to get home. Of course then I had to wade through 6 inch deep water to get to my house, greatly entertaining some local kids, but that's another story...

Hope you are all having a good evening :) Take care!

  1. We had some torrential rain and crazy thunder and lightning last week. You'd have been impressed!

Love seeing the pics of your faraway life. The stores....streets....rain...peeps! Love it all.
